LJ Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning is based in Angle Vale, in Adelaide’s north, and our service areas cover all of Adelaide and the surrounding regions. We come to you: our licensed technicians work at your home or business, so there’s no shopfront to visit.

What we do, wherever you are

We don’t repair household fridges or freezers. Our refrigeration work is commercial only.
Northern suburbs and Gawler: our home patch
Suburbs include: Angle Vale, Gawler (including Gawler East, Evanston, Willaston and Hewett), Munno Para, Smithfield, Craigmore, Blakeview, Andrews Farm, Elizabeth, Davoren Park, Salisbury, Paralowie, Parafield Gardens, Mawson Lakes, Pooraka, Golden Grove, Greenwith and the wider Tea Tree Gully area.
This is where we’re based, so it’s where we spend most of our days. Much of our home work here is in newer estates: sizing split and ducted systems properly for modern homes, servicing them before summer, and sorting out installs that have never cooled the way they should. For businesses we build and repair cool rooms and look after commercial fridges and freezers for cafés, takeaways, butchers and shops, along with refrigeration and air conditioning in the industrial and food areas around Edinburgh, Direk, Burton and Pooraka.
Adelaide Plains: Two Wells, Virginia and surrounds
Towns and suburbs include: Two Wells, Virginia, Lewiston, Buckland Park, Waterloo Corner and Mallala.
Just west of Angle Vale, the Plains are market-garden and glasshouse country. Growers and packers rely on cool rooms to pull the field heat out of produce and hold it until it goes to market, so we design, build and repair cool rooms and freezer rooms for exactly that. We also install and service air conditioning in homes across the area, including the newer estates around Two Wells.
Barossa Valley
Towns include: Nuriootpa, Tanunda, Angaston, Lyndoch, Williamstown and Rowland Flat.
The Barossa runs on wine, food and hospitality, and our work there follows suit: cellar cooling for wineries and cellar doors, cool rooms for restaurants, bakeries and butchers, and ice machines and bar fridges for pubs and function venues. See hospitality refrigeration. Barossa summers are long and hot, so we also install and service split and ducted air conditioning in homes throughout the valley.
Adelaide Hills
Towns include: Mount Barker, Littlehampton, Nairne, Hahndorf, Stirling, Crafers, Aldgate, Woodside, Lobethal and Lenswood.
Winters are colder up here, so heating matters as much as cooling. We size and install reverse cycle systems that handle both. On the commercial side, we look after cool rooms for orchards, cideries and wineries, cellar cooling, and kitchen and bar refrigeration for cafés and pubs along the main streets.
Adelaide CBD and inner suburbs
Suburbs include: Adelaide CBD, North Adelaide, Prospect, Walkerville, Kent Town, Thebarton, Mile End, Bowden, Unley and Parkside.
In the city it’s mostly offices, shops and venues. We install and service commercial air conditioning around business hours, and keep restaurants, bars and cafés running: cool rooms, under-bench and bar fridges, ice machines and blast chillers. If something fails mid-service, see commercial fridge repair. For inner-suburb homes and apartments where ducted isn’t practical, we fit split systems that are sized right and installed neatly.
Western suburbs
Suburbs include: Woodville, Findon, Kidman Park, Torrensville, Seaton, West Lakes, Grange, Henley Beach, Semaphore and Port Adelaide, plus the industrial areas of Wingfield and Regency Park.
Close to the coast, salt air is hard on outdoor units, so regular servicing and coil cleaning matter more than they do inland. For businesses we look after supermarket and retail refrigeration, from display fridges to multi-deck cases and back-of-house cool rooms (see supermarket & retail refrigeration), plus refrigeration and air conditioning on industrial sites.
Eastern suburbs
Suburbs include: Norwood, Kensington, St Peters, Payneham, Glynde, Magill, Campbelltown, Rostrevor, Athelstone and Burnside.
There are plenty of older villas and character homes in the east. Ducted systems there need careful planning around roof space, and split systems need placing so they don’t spoil the look of the house. We also service and repair refrigeration for the cafés, restaurants, delis and grocers along The Parade and the other local shopping strips.
Southern suburbs
Suburbs include: Glenelg, Brighton, Edwardstown, Marion, Mitcham, Aberfoyle Park, Hallett Cove, Reynella, Morphett Vale, Noarlunga and Seaford, plus the Lonsdale industrial area.
We install, service and repair split and ducted air conditioning in homes across the south, and look after commercial refrigeration and air conditioning for shops, venues and industrial sites. The south is the far side of Adelaide from our base, so we group southern jobs where we can. For planned installs and servicing that makes no difference to you. McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula
Areas include: McLaren Vale, Willunga, Aldinga, Sellicks Beach, Myponga, Yankalilla, Normanville, Mount Compass, Goolwa, Port Elliot, Middleton and Victor Harbor.
We look after wineries, cellar doors, cafés, restaurants and holiday accommodation down the Fleurieu, from cool rooms and cellar cooling to bar fridges and air conditioning. We also install and service split and ducted systems in homes and holiday houses. Because it’s the longest run from our base, we plan Fleurieu work ahead and group jobs where we can. Can I visit you in Angle Vale?
No, we don’t have a shopfront or showroom. We’re a mobile service and come to you. For installs and new cool room or freezer room builds, we’ll usually arrange a site visit to quote.
Do you work outside these areas?
Sometimes, particularly for commercial refrigeration or larger installs. Call us with your location and what you need, and we’ll tell you straight whether we can do it.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. We don’t offer 24/7 call-outs. If a cool room, freezer or commercial fridge breaks down during our hours, call 1300 553 744 and we’ll give you a realistic timeframe.
Do you repair household fridges?
No. Our refrigeration work is commercial only: cool rooms, freezer rooms, commercial fridges and freezers, display cases, blast chillers, ice machines and cellar cooling. For homes, we install, service and repair split and ducted air conditioning.
